In line with President Rody Duterte's vision of Available and Affordable Food for the Filipinos, the Dept. of Agriculture and Fisheries is now establishing a marketing system which would ensure that the farmers' produce would be made available to the consumers directly.
On July 28, shortly after the State of the Nation Address of President Duterte, the DAF will launch the "TienDA Farmers and Fishermen's Outlet" right in the heart of the City of Manila in the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) Compound in San Andres District.
Products coming straight from the farms will be sold to the public on July 28 at farm-gate prices without middlemen.

Fresh fish, dressed native chicken, fresh brown eggs, pork from native pigs, vegetables, rice direct from farmers cooperatives, fresh fruits and other food items will be sold.
Organic products like coco sugar, muscovado sugar and others will also be sold.
This is the first step in our advocacy to link the farmers directly to the consumers.
It is my dream that before the end of the term of President Duterte, this marketing system will be institutionalized.
I dream of the day when in every town and city all over the country, there would be Farmers' and Fishermen's TienDA Outlets where consumers could buy products fresh from the farm and at farm-gate prices.
